The Office of the Chief Information Officer (OCIO) provides advice and assistance to the Secretary and other senior officials to ensure that information technology is acquired and information resources are managed in a manner that is consistent with the requirements. The agency's Chief Information Officer (CIO) is charged with implementing the operative principles established by legislation and regulation, establishing a management framework to improve the planning and control of information technology investments, and leading change to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of Departmental operations.
This position is located at the U.S. Department of Education, Office of the Chief Information Officer (OCIO), in the Information Technical Program Service, Project Management Team. The team serve as senior level advisor to top agency management on critical issues in the field of Information Technology.
